The End.....

            Overtime I have finally finished the astonishing book My Sister's Keeper. One of the main protagonist Anna have changed so much. In the beginning of the book dealing with such an emotional trial you could tell that it was getting to her and everything her mom was saying too. Towards the end of the trial you could see how much she's changed she knew she was doing it for the correct reasons. Also at the end of the book you realized that everyone in the family has changed some  for good some for bad.
            Sarah is also one of the main characters who's changed a lot. In the beginning I thought that she was a good mom but after I continued to read she seemed bad. I felt that she only cared about Kate. My group members understood that Kate was sick but she showed no affection to Anna. I personally feel that all Anna was to her was just a genetic life saver, here to save Kate. One person asked her what would Anna name be Sarah said "I haven't thought of this daughter only in terms of what she will be able to do for the daughter I already have." In this quote the only thing that came to my mind is I don't care. At the end of the book my feelings about Sarah have not change. Once Anna was brain dead in the hospital she still took her kidney and gave it to Kate this just felt wrong to me. Sarah ha s changed so much.
              Also the characters Brian and Jesse have changed for the better. In the beginning Jesse was more of the disappointing child. He smoke, drank, and even setting fires. But after one fire thats when his parents really changed and actually started noticing him. This was good because his entire attitude change. Sometimes thats all kids want is to be loved and feel noticed. Brian was my favorite character to see change. In the beginning of the book all he would do is listen to Sarah, everything she said he would listen. Then when I saw him start giving Anna attention and feeling that this case was right I automatically knew it was good. Sarah didn't rule him anymore.
              Overall this book is a very emotional roller coaster but thats why I love it. Through all of the teen characters it shows coming of age and the different ways people go through it. This book is amazing and i would recommend it to anyone. In the beginning I wasn't excited to read it but after the first page I was in a great mind set.

My Sisters Keeper

     The quote "It is the things you cant see coming that are strong enough to kill you." (pg186) For an odd reason this quote really makes me think about our entire Coming Of Age unit. But also I think of something to keep in your mind through life. Th person who is saying this quote is Sarah who is the mother of a child fighting leukemia, and a daughter fighting rights of her body.

      For Coming of Age this quote makes me think of a lot of dangerous things in the beginning. Sometimes when we are growing up we make silly mistakes, somethings we wished we never did. With this quote I think figuratively the coming of age is what kills you. Eventually we all have to grow up sometimes we cant even see the more mature things we are doing . But overall for coming of age I think what the quote is saying is that growing up is a rough road but the things that we are not able to see that can kill us is what makes us stronger. After that thing kills us we get stronger.

       Also this next quote also makes me think about coming of age."It may be Kate's pond, but these are my lilly pads." I feel that this quote can work with coming of age because it shows that your parents are always there for you. For example when you are teens and you get angry with you parents its like the world is over they hate you and they don't love you. Reading this book and watching the characters come of age we were all wrong.  Parents do love you even when you do the craziest things in the world. Overall reading this book I feel that is is a great way for a child to come of age.

Do Something.

      Sometimes doing little things for someone can help change their life. Seeing someone on the street and giving them a penny can do something bigger than anyone can imagine. After you help someone it makes you feel good abut yourself like your actually doing something. When a group of people can come together  and do something for someone the outcome can be amazing. 

     Many people teamed up to help one man named Igor Vovkovinskiy he is the tallest man with a shoe size that you cant imagine. Many people donated money to help this man get shoes, he's reached out to brands but for a pair of shoes it was $30,000. After hearing about this many people donated enough money to get him two pairs. After hearing about this I felt that I was just a little late. I think this is very interesting and amazing how people helped him. I know that he must feel so loved and special.

        Overall, reading this article it was very moving for me. To know that so many people can donate that amount of money just help one many is great. I would love to help someone like this one day.

Thats What Makes You Beautiful.

      As a girl we live in a world where sometimes in order to be perfect is to be skinny. In order for people to feel good about themselves or just to try to get a guy attention they wear makeup. People want someone to make them feel beautiful and just for a second to stop feeling insecure about themselves. Sometimes when I listen to music I use it to make myself happy and to get away from things like this. But when I listen to a certain song by One Direction called What Makes You Beautiful it makes me feel beautiful about myself.
      After listening to this song a million times a day I realized many things about myself. I put on eye lines. and mascara and all this other makeup for what.I'm changing who I am just for someone to say two words to me, your beautiful. After listening to this song I noticed everyone is beautiful in their own way. Somedays while listening to this I try to stand in the mirror and continue to tell myself you are beautiful. Sometimes I think its amazing what musicians can do just by putting a few words together in a song.
      After listening to this song I realized that music is the key to my lie. Its the one way that I can get away from all the things that upset me. It gives me a new way to look at myself so thankyou.

BE STRONG

        Imagine losing the most important person to you over racial reasons. Didn't this end a long time ago? This is the case of Trayvon Martin a young seventeen year old boy walking from the store and was killed by a "WHITE MAN". Trayvon is "BLACK" and just because he was wearing a hoodie Zimmerman killed the unarmed boy. Hearing this I think what is the world coming to and how can I help change this? There are so many ways to help and be apart.
     One way I decided to help is by being apart of hug a hoodie. Sometimes I am afraid to speak up and that's not always good but wearing my hoodie I feel like I am actually doing something. We here about this racial case and we just sit there and watch and say "wow thats crazy" but the HELL ARE WE DOING ABOUT IT. This case is unfair and Zimmerman should be served justice. This is important to me and after wearing my hoodie I decided to speak up, no more being afraid to be the odd ball out. This case is more than how I feel it's about whats rite.
       In conclusion, I feel that there are more ways to help and if we try I feel that Trayvon will really be at peace. Kids love social network, how about making a page on facebook. We all should be apart of change

Sold.

        Imagine barely having food or depending on rain for your crops to grow and it never comes. A monsoons washing away your only hope for money. This is how life is for Lakshmi she's only a thirteen year old girl and has a lot to deal with. As I just began reading this book I notice how lucky some of the city kids are. It's also teaching me that I shouldn't take what I have for granted.
         All though I have just started the protagonist is facing many problems. Lakshmi father is making her go into the city to work because the family is poor. Also her dad isn't that good everything he has he goes and gamble and sometime loses it which is really bad for the family. Lakshmi is standing strong and handling it well. Ofcourse she's going to be sad to leave her family for work but she doesn't show it. She knows that this is what she's going to have to do to help her family. I cant relate to this situation at all because I would be so heart broken. In time and after explaining I would have to stop thinking about myself and just help my family. Also this line "A thousand stars have fallen to earth," is very powerful. The author is connecting outside the text. As she's outside she is looking at the different huts but i feel that she is looking for opportunity. Overall this books shows the struggles of one teen.
         This is an amazing book and it continues to keep me interested. As you continue to read you understand how hard it is growing up in certain places. People have to do many things just to support their family even if its going far away.

      While reading the book Liar  by Justine Larbalesteir I focused hard on the characters. This story is about a girl who lies about everything and reading this book its hard to tell when she's telling the truth. When everything you love dies will you change. Also through reading this book i noticed that through tough times we should just stay strong.
           In the beginning of the book all the main character was, was a big liar and thats all she knew about. But towards the ending after losing her boyfriend she realizes after all this time she's been living a lie and its just wrong. Also I think the author is trying to explain to kids that lying leads to no good. By telling the truth you will feel relief and free. This book relates to my life because I remember telling my parents a lie and getting very afraid after I just felt so bad.
        Overall, I hope people truly get the message of the book. I recommend it to anyone and parents to give to children.
     

PRAY! "1"

        Sometimes in life we see all these famous celebrities helping out the less needy and automatically think its a publicity stunt. Watching the video and hearing the words to a song changed me entire look. This powerful song is song Pray by Justin Bieber. Through this song Justin wanted us to help the children and the less fortune. People see it on the news and TV but never decide to speak up and its wrong. Dont be afraid speak up and try to save lives. 
          To help bring awareness to this situation Justin puts things in his song to make you think. For example he says: "It's in the papers, it's on the TV, it's everywhere that I go. Children are crying, soldiers are dying, some people don't have a home. But I know there's sunshine behind that rain I know there's good times behind that pain."In this part of the song Justin says tat we se everywhere but what do we say. But through all this pain Justin says that people must stay strong through all the darkness in our life theres always a different path to take.
         In life I can relate to this very much. When I see on the news life on how natural disasters caused 40,000 deaths and I see kids on the streets its a painful sight to see. I wanna help and be apart of change but I never do. I continue to say but i never do it and I'm happy that there are some people who are helping.

Liar Liar Pants On Fire

      Lies, what are they really? Another way of hiding ourselves and who we are from the real world. We lie for many different reasons to be cool, or smart or just so anyone will think we are different from who we are. The protagonists in my book Liar by Larbalestrier tells lies about everything. Micah lies about everything, an if you lie about everything how will you even know how truth.
     Most of the time when you lie and you get caught up in it and usually admit. I'm not sure if Micah will do that even if her boyfriend died. How will you protect someone if their dead? If you love someone you should give up anything and everything for them be there! Even if that means given up what you do best, and thats being a BIG LIAR. I just began reading this book but so far I can tell that Micah is going to need to grow up a lot because she has serious problems.
      Overall even though I just began reading I can tell theres lots of drama. Lies, secrets, and death just in the beginning of the book. Lying ca get you through trouble for a little time but when it comes back it hits very hard. Time to be honest and live a truthful life.

OH ROMEO, THY LOVE.

         Watching the Baz Luhrman take on Romeo and Juliet modern movie became so interesting to me. I'm not saying that because of Leonardo Dicaprio. He had such a strong take on it. Most of the time learning and reading Shakespeare is so hard but this time you can see everything the understanding and the meaning of it. With a protagonist who is a helpless romantic and a girl not sure her role is in life emotions fly everywhere. Something that caught my eye the most watching this movie would have to be weather.

          I chose weather because as i was watching the movie I saw how it drastically changed. For example when Romeo's best friend died everything was very cloudy and scary. In this everything became dark and when I saw this I immediately thought thats how Romeo is feeling. He's angry and sad on how something like this could happen. Also when Romeo killed Juliet's cousin rain started to fall down. I guess Romeo is feeling revenge but also sadness because thats Romeo's true love cousin. Another scene I also watched closely was in the beginning when Romeo was writing about Rosaline. The weather was calm beautiful and sunny. As all the drama started you see how everything changes.

            Overall Baz did an amazing job showing the different emotions of characters. Not only did he use it with words and everything else he used it with weather. Letting us know if the character was mad sad or even angry.

OPPORTUNITY

     In life we get a chance at so many opportunities that when they come our way we have to take them. A couple days ago I was given a book called First Step 2 Forever: My Story by Justin Bieber. Most people feel like celebrities are all just born with money but some have a life before that. In this Justin tries to explain that everything isn't always what it seems. We all have dreams and hope but it takes someone strong to make them come true.
      This book really made me think. Most of the time I never really knew the "real Justin" but with the book everything is their. For me I can understand where he's coming from. Since I was a little girl I dreamed of being an actress and doing the thing I love the most everyday but I was always afraid. I was scared that I might not have the right look for the "industry" but I was wrong. Reading this book I got a certain feeling that I should go for it and do whatever I want in life. Being scared in hiding under the shadow gives you nothing.
      Overall knowing that it is Justin Bieber people just think about fame and fortune but its more. I strongly in courage people to read it, it my not help someone out like it did me but i learned a lot. I think everyone should know that there is so much opportunity out there we just have to go out and find whats right for us.

WOMEN

Going through the photos of the different museums I kept trying to find pictures that spoke to me. As I looked I saw this picture I'm not sure what hit me but something did. When i saw this picture I thought of a single mom struggling. She has many kids and she's tiered but she wont give up. Many woman from places   like African villiages you see carrying big buckets trying to bring water. In these places you always see struggle with the African American woman.

 Growing seeing my parents get divorced and then living in a single parent its hard. I guess thats why I chose this picture because it reminds me of my mom and all the other single parents out there. From running around at work to feeding children dressing them and putting them to bed things seem to be a handful. I feel that we don't give our African American woman any respect.

Overall i feel that woman deserve a lot of respect. They work hard for everything although theres struggle sometime we get through it. Women are amazing.

NOMINATION GUYS!

         Although I have read many post the one that really stood out to me was Marks. Mark puts himself and his post every time and thats all I've been trying to do. He focus on the main idea and what he wants the reader to leave knowing. Also he crafts his work in such a deep way making it easy to like it very much. He connects things and make them very real.
          I also really enjoyed how Mark doesn't give you a long retail. Mark gives you enough information about the book and the characters to let you fully understand what you are putting your self into. Mark sets one focus and he continues it through out the entire blog post. Mark also shows a lot of effort and improvement in every post he does.
         Overall I really like Marks blog. I cant wait to read more of his post and see what else he has in store. I really like to see more of Mark's voice and tone travel through.

FIGHT.

         As I continued to read Breaking Dawn I begin to  have more and more questions. I also began to notice things about the protagonist. Even though they are wolves and vampires they all seem to fight for what they believe like Jacob leaving the pack. Jacob has a kind heart and a strong soul, so for him to be homeless just to help someone he is suppose to be against is very hard on his part. But every time I read this book i feel more impressed with Bella she's dying slowly and she trying to hide it. CRACK theirs another rib. "It's killing her from the inside out."Overall I think its good to fight what you believe in.
         I always tried to be strong like the characters I read in books and how they fight for what they think is right. Bella is fighting for her baby until her heart stops beating, and Edward and Jacob will fight and do what ever it takes for Bella. I never had to fight for something nor had I ever had something or someone worth fighting for. I remeber seeing all these people on wall street protesting, standing up for those who don't want to, must importantly they are fighting for what they think is right. There was so much conflict people getting hurt and they didn't give up.
        Taking a stand and fighting for something can go a long way. Jacob has been fighting for Bella since the first day he met her and he has never given up. In time, maybe tomorrow i'll find something thats worth fighting for. When that day comes I never want to give up just like Bella Cullen and Jacob Black.

        Reading this book Breaking Dawn i understand more of the stuff that people go through in everyday life. I began to notice that love maybe one of the strongest things to keep someone strong even if they are close to giving up. Bella loves Edward with all her heart but i feel like this "demon child" may come between them. If this thing is killing her then why does she want to keep it? I never understood her she's "different."Love in her eyes seems better tan breathing.
       I always wanted to understand the meaning of love in the way some people do, like Jacob Black. Love seems so powerful in his eyes  it seems like it takes over him. When you see that one person and you light up, nothing in the world could be better than being with that person. For example in the book Bella is so in love that she's willing to risk to her life to make love to him, i understand that Edward cares because he seems so afraid. Hurting Bella makes him not even want to live.
       Overall i cant wait to see what will happen for the baby. Having a new life to care about seems so hard just as a team. The maid said death is the only key. If death is will the baby survive.
